Cornerstone Insurance is an insurance brokerage based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Cornerstone wanted to save their team time on a process that was extremely important, but where a human touch didn’t add value - properly naming and categorizing their daily EDOC downloads. This process took 6 hours every day to complete and is now completely automated by a digital worker.

The Story of Cornerstone Insurance

Cornerstone has been serving customers for over 60 years. They have 45 employees spread across 4 physical offices and a digital brokerage that serves all of Western Canada. Brock Longworth, Cornerstone’s COO, is the second generation in his family to run the brokerage, and he’s always looking for ways to take it to the next level. Specifically, Brock wants to leverage new technology to provide a better experience to customers and stand out in the marketplace.

The Opportunity Faced by Cornerstone

There was one process in Cornerstone’s operations that was a massive drain on productivity. The process of naming and properly categorizing their EDOC downloads was time-consuming, repetitive and it was hard to staff due to the boring nature of the work. Cornerstone’s operations team spent 6 hours every working day opening 300 - 400 policies, reading them, pulling out the appropriate data, properly renaming the EDOC and setting broker activities. Cornerstone knew they wanted to automate this process, but didn’t know how they could or if it could even be done.

How Cornerstone Chose Quandri

Cornerstone had wanted to automate this process for a long time, but weren’t sure it was possible until Red River Mutual introduced them to Quandri. After speaking with Brock and the rest of the Cornerstone team, Quandri proposed a solution that would save Cornerstone $27,000 per year on the process, and allow them to repurpose 120 hours every single month from their operations team. For Brock, it initially sounded too good to be true. He hadn’t seen anything like this before and wasn’t sure if the end result would be what was promised. However, a small up-front investment along with a monthly subscription starting upon deployment allowed Brock to agree to a proposal with a large potential ROI, without taking much up-front risk.

How Quandri Responded

The Results

Once this digital worker was implemented, Cornerstone was saving 120 hours every month, $27,000 per year, while the process was completed 88% faster and before anyone showed up to work in the morning. Initially, the decision was based on price. However, once implemented the biggest benefit to Cornerstone became reliability. Their digital worker doesn’t get sick or take vacation, it runs on a daily schedule, and they never need to hire or manage for that position again. Brock had this to say about the result of the digital worker being implemented:
